Eat emotionally- please!!!

July 10th, 2012 by Patty Bear

I know you’ve been told about the dangers of eating emotionally, but the truth is that if you want to enjoy permanent weight loss you want to eat emotionally.

What’s the catch?

Well, the way we currently eat emotionally is to react to negative emotions with food.  We stuff our anger and our stomachs.  We bury our sadness beneath heavy sauces.  We drown our sorrows in alcohol or icecream.  We assuage our boredom with endless new artificial flavors.

We choose our food to mirror the way we already feel: heavy, ordinary, unloved, bored, despairing, invisible….

But what if you did the opposite?

What if you chose your food to match the way you wanted to feel?

Light, energetic, carefree, dynamic, cherished, alive, colorful, powerful, authentic, purposeful, bold, daring, free!

You see the thing is, that if you paid exquisite attention to how you wanted to feel you could never overeat and you couldn’t eat unhealthy for very long.

You could eat anything that truly felt good to you and never, ever feel deprived.  And you could not possibly be overweight either.

So just for fun I’ve included a couple of ideas for you of food that is colorful, dynamic, alive, energizing, and loving.  Click on this link  for summertime treats.
